97 civic pdl and radio stopped working

Have a 1997 Honda Civic EX 2dr - all factory equip; the keyless entry function and factory radio have stopped working at the same time. The doors lock from the inside but not with the remote. The radio will not power on at all. It's my girlfriend's car and she wanted me to install a new CD player when she told me about this combined problem. I've read somewhere in the forum that the keyless entry runs through the factory radio (is this right?) so I'm afraid to put in a new radio.

-note: the speedometer never worked so I put in a used gauge cluster a couple months ago and everything seemed to work then.

-I've checked the remote control batteries (have 2 remotes) and the fuses. I didn't want to start tearing things apart; I don't know much about the Civic and thought someone on here may know exactly what I need to check. Thanks for any aid.

The radio depends on 2 fuses to get power.  One is labeled radio and the other is probably not.  Since the Keyless system also quit working I can only guess that the radio and the K/E system has lost constant power.  There are probably 2 fuseboxes on that vehicle, you need to check all of the fuses in both boxes.

I've checked the fuses. Guess I'll have to pull the radio and check the connection.
