I have a 2001 Alero with factory keyless entry. My question is Im wanting to install a Auto Command alarm with remote start. Will i need to disconnect the factory system to install the aftermarket alarm? I broke my alereo oem remote and im wanting a little bit more protection. The auto command states:
* Up to 1000ft. Range
* Warm up and defrost, or cool down your car by remote control
* Save Time and extend engine life by having your car all ready to go
* Car cannot be driven without your key
* Remote start relays on board
* Selectable run times
* low voltage check
* diesel mode
* quick stop option
* no-tach installation
* nuisance prevention circuitry NPC
* 3 zone alarm system
* alarm zone bypass
* passive/active arming
* starter disable
* auto rearm
* auxiliary output/trunk pop
* ignition controlled door locks
* daytime running lights
* parking light relays on board
* keyless entry outputs
**** KEEP IN MIND it uses the factory horn and the siren and that this does not have a shock sensor ****
I called around and my stero shops want 50-60 dollars and hour and they said 4 hours of work. I can do this myself with your help. Yall have helped me before.
Can you guys help me with this one? I dont have 200 to spend getting this thing istalled. I dont have to have the remote start but it would be nice. I dont want to mess anything up.

give me your e-mail. ill send you a diagram for your car. if you have not already gotten a passlock bypass module for this vechicle do so. you will need it for the remote start therte is the xko1, the 457gw, there is the gmldp. directed , peripheral make these, also there is autopage they make some excellent ones too. the 457gw is still around even though they do not manufacture it no more.
------------- installers do it best. we got the magic hands!
