Subject: why would alarm trigger after 30 min?

greetings all,

a few days ago i put in an autopage c3rs900 in a buddy's 06 pathfinder.  it worked fine for about a day or so but now the alarm goes off without any sort of disturbance to the vehicle at 30 min intervals (i had it parked inside a closed garage and watched it like a pet monkey since i didn't believe it at first.  sure enough right at about 30 min it goes off. )   and the 2-way shows an open door after it has triggered but the vehicle hadn't been touched in any sort of way.  i'm completely dumbfounded at this point so if anybody can offer some help in diagnosing this i will be forever grateful.  thanx.

Look on this site for diode blocks on door contacts specifically DEI tech sheet # 1076.  Your body control computer is going into sleep or shutdown mode and waking up every 30 mins to do a self check.  This sends a "spike" round the system and the alarm thinks its a door trigger,  it's easier for you to look at the diagramme then you will know what to do

first off thanx for the response.  i did what doc 1076 said and diode isolated the door triggers (1 amp diodes from radio shack).  the 2way stopped showing the open door but then the alarm wouldn't trigger when any of the doors opened.  that kinda had me concerned  so i went ahead and skipped the individual door triggers and tried to use the vehicle dome supervision.  that fixed the whole door trigger problem that arose but i ran back into the 30 min problem again.   i kinda figured that i could diode isolate that one but then i was back to the whole no trigger when door is opened problem.  i know its got to be something simple to fix this but i'm so frustrated that its probably staring me in the face and i'm not seeing it.  any other ideas?

After you followed 1076, did you test it with a DMM?

i did follow 1076 and had each door trigger isolated, made sure diodes were facing the right way, and verified negative trigger with DMM.  when it wouldn't trigger alarm when the doors were opened, that's when i decided to just use the dome supervision and ran back into 30 min problem.  i did notice on the 2way that when the door triggers were isolated the open door no longer showed up.  the only thing i can think of is i used the wrong diodes but i bought the 1amp suggested by the doc.  i'm lost.  could it be something not related to the door trigger that's picking up the "spike" and thinking its a door trigger?

Did you remember to to this on the trunk switch?

i went ahead and disconnected it because i ran out of diodes (forgot to get one for it when i went to buy the others)

now that i think about it, wouldn't it show an open trunk on the 2way instead of open door if that were the case?

Sorry I was clutching at straws!  There's a post in the security section,  I think about troubles with a Viper it relates to a similar vehicle to yours,  it might be worth reading.
