...would anybody know the best\most convenient spot to push the main power wire that's connected to the battery though the firewall?

I have never worked on\wired up a German car before and the dual firewall design is new to me

Adjacent to the battery should be AC pipes running into the car, alternatives, bulkheads or if there's a fusebox at the scuttle, through there. Use a long shafted screwdriver, or 3/8 copper plumbing pipe with the cable inside to get through.

thank you

.....I believe you mean between the master cylinder and that box (possibly a fuse box) which is right in front of the steering wheel (when you look through the windshield)

.....I will attempt the wiring later tonight when it cools down a bit

Must apologise, left hand drive and right hand drive (which I'm used to) are quite different, also I believe the battery might be lower down in the engine bay in newer versions, in my time they were in the lower windscreen scuttle section and there were a pair of convenient AC pipes going through.
