Not sure if this is the right section to ask, but couldn't find a more appropriate one...

I'm having problems trying to repair a broken wire on the E41 connector, but can't figure out how to take it apart to repair it. I've heard a wide variety of suggestions, but none of them seem to work.

As the title says this is an Infiniti G35, under the hood near the brake booster.

Thanks in advance :)

The best way would probably be to get a replacement loom from a dealer or breaker's yard. Failing that, is the break in a cable or at the plug. A drop of solder then drowning everything in a water retarder will keep you going for some time.

What about jumping the wire around the plug?  I can't imagine that you need to unplug that connector very often (and if you are then there must be something else wrong).

What is the background to the wire function, how it got damaged, etc.

Some connectors are molded, some have releases, some just clip together.  Without actually holding the connector in my hand I wouldn't be able to tell you how (if you even can) to take it apart.
