Hi all, I have recently been given a pioneer GM3400 amp and want to set it all up, I have wired all the power and speaker leads up but there is a clip with 3 wires (red, yellow and blue) on the amp. I have been told that this is remote wire connector. I have extended the remote cable from the the back of my head unit and tried running it across each of the wires to no result. Does anyone know what the 3 wires are for/how to wire this all up?
Please can somebody help me out?

Connect all 3 of the wires to the Amp Remote wire of your radio.

Or if I rembember this far back, red to ACC, yellow to a 12v+ fused 5amp constant and black to ground.

He is asking about the small 3 wire plug that if I remember right has a red, blue and possiby a yellow wire. Some of their older decks and EQs got power from the amplifier. They quit putting the din plugs on the amps, but still put the switched and constant input to power the decks and EQs. All 3 of the wires require positive voltage. There is no ground wire on that little plug. I have seen many of the amps that they lost the plugs, simply soldering a singe wire across all 3 terminals will make the amp come on. ------------- Let's Go Brandon Brown. Thank you for your help so far. So all I do is connect all three cables to the remote lead and the amp should jump into life? I will try this out in the morning.

Thank you very much. The amp powers up now. The only problem is the sub that is attached to it seems to be very quiet, I am using some VERY cheap speaker wire (5p per meter stuff). Would a thicker speaker cable make it louder?

Is the wire thread size? How long of a run is it between the amp and speaker? I would use nothing smaller than 18 Ga. wire. I do not remember that particular amp, is there a knob labeled Input Sensitivity? Have you tried turning that adjustment in the clockwise direction? ------------- Let's Go Brandon Brown. The wire is signal wire sort of thickness so really thin. The length between amp and sub is about 1 meter. There isnt any knobs or dials on the outside of the amp, would i need to open up the case?
