Nope, No Sparks, I had to hack the harness to attache the one that came with the deck, I will post again once I have double checked all of fuses etc. Thanks for the wiring info. one more question, would the illuminator cable corespond to the ant rempte wire from the sony deck?

I would appreciate less sarcasm I'm just looking for a little help here. There is no pop but there is a sound of something moving internally, The nothing comes up on the display though.

Well im back to the Accessory wire has no power...You can take the red and yellow wires , twist them together and reconnect to where the yellow wire was attached to in the car...! You dont want to leave it like this ...Just to see if there is no Accessory power...! And if that does not work, take the twisted red and yellow from stereo and put it to the accessory wire in car...You can also bench test the stereo...Take it out of car and use a 12 volt battery...under hood...etc...Again take the twisted yellow and red wires to positive terminal...black to ground...Oh yeah...Go ahead and run a lead from the black lead off of radio to a known good ground...Cigarette lighter...metal in car...etc...! Also how you posted , "that it sounds like it has power" , was kinda loose and hard to understand...But no worries mon...! It's not sarcasm, it's common sense! First thing if ANYTHING electrical fails to work is to check the power supply (s) and ground.i.e. yellow constant 12volts, red acc 12volts and black ground.

As tommy stated, check the voltage on the red wire of the radio. I am guessing it is not getting power. If it were my question that triggered all the sarcasm, it was not meant to be sarcastic. But it did get the better explanation that lead Tommy and I to think that there is no power on the switched wire of the radio.

Ok now we have narrowed it down to no power on the acc tested it with the constant and everything works fine. any suggestions on wher to start with the power to the acc?

ok Problem solved the illumination wire was swapped with the acc power at a splice somewhere in the dash that i was not looking for. Now the deck works.
Question #2 is anyone familiar with wiring in an auxiliary power source for Satellite radio, GPS etc.? in this particular vehicle or similar

Connect it to the same wire you have the red wire of the radio connected.

Just remember on some of those satellite radios, they need 6v...not 12v...So just dont cut off the cigarette adapter plug...!

Thanks, everything worked out fine I just wired in one of those Auxiliary cigarette lighter type 12V power supplies and plugged the satellite radio and GPS into that everything seems to be working just fine now.
