Installing a basic car alarm for a friend. Have done a few before, but was a little confused about the wiring to the locks on the '99 malibu. Is it just a 2 wire hookup, if I want to system to lock/unlock all of the doors simultaneously?? Also where is the best place to tap into the ignition switch harness for the cutoff?? If it's the BCM, where exactly is it located on the '99 Malibu. For the door trigger will the one wire for the interior light trigger the alarm for all 4 doors?? Thanks to anone that can help. Really appreciate it.

Notes:
NOTE: This vehicle has the passlock II immobilizer system that, when adding a remote start, must be interfaced with. Use DEI part 555t or 555L. *1 To access the ignition harness remove the radio (without unplugging it) or the panel just above the radio. *2 On the 4 cylinder the tach wire is white at the ignition coil. For the 6 cylinder use PURPLE / white at the coil pack located on the top rear of the motor. *3 The lt. GREEN/ black is located in the drivers kick and catches only the drivers door. The lt. blue is located in the harness coming from the drivers running board going under the drivers seat and it catches all other doors. Use both door trigger wires and diode isolate each.

Under the driver's dash, you'll see two large harnesses going through the firewall. Open those up, and one of them will have the heavy gauge red (constant), pink (ignition), and yellow (starter) wires in there.

(But you couldn't do a remote start at this location, because the green second ignition wire is not present.)

The lock wires are easiest to get at the harness coming out of the driver's fuse box. A positive trigger to the blue wire locks the doors; a positive trigger to the white wire unlocks them.

The easiest place to get parking lights is probably the brown wire at the back of the radio. It is difficult to get at the wiring for the light switch.

Definitely DON'T use the courtesy light for door trigger. The car's BCM goes to sleep after 20 minutes, and then the domelight rests at ground, and then your alarm will false. Use the light GREEN/ black and the light blue as mentioned above.

Are you going to hook up trunk pin? Even though the tech sheet doesn't say it, the trunk lamp will false after 20 minutes also. To correct this, take the positive wire going into the trunk lamp, cut it in half, and put a diode inline. Then wire your alarm's trunk pin wire to the negative side of the trunk lamp as usual.
