I would like to add a remote start to my ford factory alarm. According to the install diagram for the remote start <"Times New Roman" ><"Times New Roman" >
AUXILIARY INPUT (-)
If you wish to use this starter with an aftermarket alarm,
connect the BLUE wire from the 16-pin harness to the
second or third channel (-) output of your existing alarm.
When the output is activated, a (-) signal will be supplied
to the remote starter which will start the vehicle.
Which wire can I use from the factory system? I see on the diagram listed on this site an accessory wire listed but I would assume that is for the windows or something like that. Can that wire still be used and if so how do I activate it? By the way my remote has lock unlock and panic.
make and model of alarm? right off the top of my head, you are asking how to trigger your add on remote start using your factory alarm/keyless correct? if so you need to tie the activation wire from the start unit into the lock trigger wire in the driver side kick panel. it is pink / YELLOW and negative triggered, but test it to be sure. change the number of activation pulses on your remote start unit to 2 or 3, then (depending on how many pulses you have iy set to) pressing the lock button 2-3 times in a row within 3-4 seconds will activate the remote start. also, make sure that your unit has a factory alarm disarm output wire, and be sure to hook it up as well. dark GREEN/ purple in the driver side kick panel.
Its a bulldog security rs1100 and that is the info I needed.
Thank You
