I have an older 552t with 5 dipswitches and an led internally on the brain box. I got it hooked up in a 2003 ford f-150 that is a plain jane truck. no factory alarm, no autolamps, no electric locks. I need to know what by pass to put in it, one that doesn't requyire a key to be locked inside. I have two keys fore programming. Right now i have secured the starter wire. and use the key to start it then hit the remote start. It doesn't trip the immobilizer that way. also if i did hook up the crank wire and attempt to "pit stop" it, with the engine running the remote start will crank any way. hard on the flywheel. I need to be able to progaram the 552t so that it recognizes the engine is running, doesn't flash the lights while in remote start condition. (I prefer the light s to be on constant. I don't have a book , but did get a download of the manual. Thank you for any help.

First, you need to program the tach signal, start the truck and then flip dip switch 4 to "on", the led on the main circuit board should come on....turn the dip switch back to off and stop the truck.  For the bypass, you can use the xpress kit XK04 or the ADSTB from idata link....I use the ADSTB but I've used the XK04 before....

I will certainly give that a try with programming the tach. As far as that fifth dipswitch is concerned, what does that do? The back plastic of the remote start has all the functions and wire codes and colors on it but does not list that 5th dipswitch that is clearly there. Also how do i get into program mode to change from a flashing tail lights to a constant on, you know when the car is running. Thanks much for your help.

Thanks, hooking up that tach wire to the #5 cylinder in the engine compartment really worked. I used the different colored wire on the injector , hit the tach learn and turned it off. That was it. It worked perfectly. Now as far as the parking lightsare concerned, I still don't know how to get it from blinking status parking lights to constant on?One of the downloads for the manual said there should be two white wires on the satelite relays to hook to the parking circuit. Do I need to put in a relay to make another white wire for the parking circuit?

This is an old unit. It was made in 12-96. Without a programming button I can't get to menu 2 option 4. Do I use the learn dipswitch? Can I make a programming button?

Is your parking lights on and external satellite relay?  If yes, take a diode and connect it between the small white wire and the small pink wire of the satellite (-) outputs with the cathode towards the pink wire....your parking lights will stop flashing.

That relay harness has a crank, two ignitions, two power wires(12+) and an accessory, plus I had to add an another accessory wire for the heater/fan/compressor. Now I am not sure if there is an external relay for the lights. That output could be coming out of the brain.

How many relays do you have on your relay tower? 4 or 5?  If 5, your parking light would be the fifth one and you would see a small white wire attached to it.

It has 5 relays, I added a 6th.

Do you see that small white wire attached to the fifth relay?

Well I'm not working on it right now, but i believe i do remember seeing it. What position would it be in ? 85, 86, 87?

85 or 86, can't remember.....you probably have the black round connector between the tower and the main brain.....if yes, use a blade to cut a section of the black isolation to expose the small colored wires.....install a diode between the white and the pink with the cathode on the pink wire side and that will solve your problem.....I did that 1000 times....it works great.

what does the diode provide for? And I need to have diode that has a stripe that is nearer the (-)pink wire?

All right I will givce that a whirl. so i will be putting a jumper on the white wire and the pink wire inside that black tube that runs from the relays down to the brain. that cathode side of that diode will be on the pink wire with the other end attached to the white wire. Is my read back correct/

Yes, that way, when you start the vehicule, the pink wire will send a ground to the parking light relay making it constant....the only thing is that when you lock and unlock your doors with the engine running, your lights won't flash but if the engine is off, you'll see parking light flash with lock and unlock.....the diode blocks the ground output of the white wire from triggering the ignition relay when you lock and unlock doors.
