i'm installing a kenwood kdc-138. Can i run my 12v constant to my radio fuse.i havent tried hooking the 12v constant to the fuse block. i also have an accessory wire(yellow/black). it works when i use the accessory and 12v constant. when turn i turn the car off. i lose all of my presets. i want to keep my personal present and settings. im looking for another alternative to my situation. thanks in advance.

Check to see if your radio's yellow (constant) is going to a constant source because that would be the solution to your problem, also to be thorough, make sure you have a good ground. (Not just the antenna plug).

Is there an orange wire on the cigarette lighter socket? If so, that should be a constant source.

@howie ll. my constant going to the fuse box.
@ i am an idiot. there is a orange cig. cable. i dont kno if it will tho. i try it later and see if it work.
just in case this work. whats your next solution?
my manual say that the battery wire(yellow). going to the battery. my ignition wire(red) is to acc/fuse box. my power antenna is taking care of. just got replace the antenna.

You can run it to the fusebox, but there is a suitable wire on the factory radio harness. It will be a yellow wire on the same plug with a black, grey and possibly a pink wire.

Disregard speaker size and antenna location. This is for a Camaro but the wire colors are the same as your car. 1978-81 Chevrolet Camaro Stereo Wiring | Constant 12V+ | Orange | Switched 12V+ | Yellow | Ground | Black | Illumination | Gray | Dimmer | Brown | Antenna Trigger | Pink | Antenna | Windshield | Front Speakers | 3 1/2" Dash | Left Front (+) | Tan | Left Front (-) | Gray | Right Front (+) | Light Green | Right Front (-) | Dark Green | Rear Speakers | 6" x 9" Rear Deck | Left Rear (+) | Brown | Left Rear (-) | Yellow | Right Rear (+) | Dark Blue | Right Rear (-) | Light Blue |
