Comments :
Note :This vehicle is equiped with the new generation GM start system (ION style) and an immobilizer system that needs to be bypassed
If you're using a OM-GMC-6, program an output for Ignition instead of "ground out when runing''
(1) There is no starter wire on this car, see steering collumn diagram for installation.
(2) For Ecotec engine you can use Lt.blue/Black, Lt.GREEN / WHITE, ORANGE / White or Purple at large loomed harness from the engine to ECM. See Picture
(3) To bypass the clutch, use a 180ohms resistor with a negative output set for Starter and connect directly to the clutch wire
(4) Only if equipped with an OEM remote starter, also pin 3 is Purple (-) N.O. OEM Hood Switch, and Pink/Black is N.C.

I have discovered that by connecting the Factory Alarm Disarm wire from the remote start/alarm into the status input of the XK06 bypass module, you can disarm the factory alarm without an interface. The only side effect is that the accessory is energized in the process. It shuts off after a few minutes though.

I've been searching a lot of sites, including a lot of time on this site and still can't seem to find the answer i'm looking for - which hopefully is very simple.

I'm installing a remote start (crimestopper rs4) on a 2008 Cobalt (auto, no power doors, windows, and no factory alarm).
So far I have everything hooked up except the starter wire - and from the wiring diagrams that are copied and pasted in every post there is no starter wire. So I tried to find out as much info as possible for the bypass that seems to be required but that's where things get fuzzy.

Is the bypass absolutely necessary when there is no factory alarm system? If so, can one get this at a best buy or car audio/security place without a problem? (I'm assuming they come with seperate wiring instructions?)
If it's not needed, then what am I missing?

Thanks!

On the clutch, for the negative output and 180 ohm resistor, will the starter (-)200mA output be fine, or should i connect a relay so the the (-)200mA fires the coil /w a constant 12v, switching the clutch wire (through the 180 ohm resistor) to ground (chasis)?

The (-) starter output is sufficient.

Just follow the instructions from the DLPK module and this will interface with the starter circuit.
