Hi, I am doing a remote starter on a 2006 Chev Impala. I am using an Autostart and an IDATA PL module Wiring type 9. I got everything to work except the transponder bypass. In the car there are 2 harnesses at the ignition exactly the same as the diagram in the Idata guide for the PL module type 9 wiring. The problem I am having is that the Idata module will not program, it stays lit solid red during programming which tells me it is missing info from the car like a wire is not hooked up or something.I have soldered all my connections and I have to talk their tech support. They say I only need the data and ignition wires hooked up to program the module. I have tried everything, however looking over the car tech data and the Idata sheet I have seen perhaps an error in the wire colors. In the car tech data it says the starter is a white wire at the ignition harness but the Idata wiring diagram says the white wire is PASSLOCK. I was wondering if PASSLOCK is the same or does the same functions as the starter wire or could I be hooked up to the wrong wire because there is also a WHITE/ BLACK wire beside the white one. This seems weird also because the tech from IDATA says I only need the DATA and Ignition wires hooked up to program the module.

THE DUCE
you do not need the starter wire as there is none at the ign
the white wire is the passlock the pink is ign the brown is ign
i own a 2007 and ive done a few pm me if you have too many problems
Thanks man, but I spoke with a better tech support guy the next day and he told me sometimes the PL modules don't work on these cars, so I used a GM one with the ignition wrap and it works.
