Howdy All,
I have a 2005 Dodge Ram 3500 Cummins Turbo Diesel 4x4. I have a PCS Transmission Controller (little computer) that needs a tach signal to get that aspect of it to work. I searched through this site and found that the wire that was listed was a dark blue/gray out of the first plug of the ECM. Tried that one, no success.

Little lost here, just wondering if anyone has any other ideas. Thanks in advance...........................JP

This is the PCS Transmission Controller

Audiovox lists a wire and they give the location as On the ignition coil.  That's no help for you.

Note on the 06 model reads as follows.

ON DIESEL MODELS THE TACH WIRE IS AT THE ECM ON THE LOWER DRIVER SIDE OF THE ENGINE, FRONT 60 PIN PLUG, PIN 24 OR AT THE CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR, LEFT OF THE ECM AT THE 3 PIN PLUG. ON SRT-10 MODELS THE TACH WIRE IS ON THE BLACK PLUG - PIN 18.

Note on the 04 model reads

ON DIESEL MODELS THE TACH WIRE IS A DARK BLUE/GRAY AT THE ECM ON THE LOWER DRIVER SIDE OF THE ENGINE, 60 PIN PLUG, PIN 24. FRONT PLUG 4 ROWS UP FROM THE BOTTOM, 4TH ROW FROM THE FRONT.posted_image

I did a remote start very recently on an 05 dodge diesel. Its the front plug, pull that harness apart you'll find the blue/gray. I got the wrong one initially, but it is in there.

Ya believe with the last post I counted 2 wires of the same color in that location. Make sure you are testing for AC voltage on your DMM with one probe on the wire and one probe to ground.
