i cannot find the factory amp for the life of me in my 95 ford bronco full size eddie bauer.  The Alpine customer service hot line told me it was in the rear right/passangers side panel but it wasn't there.   Another posting said its under the dash to the right of the steering colom.  it wasn't there. Anybody know where this thing exists or do i need to run wire to each speaker?

Is there defitnely an amp...? Have you already removed the stereo...If so you can pop the speakers with a 9volt battery...Or on the wiring harness...Where the blue/white wire is on the aftermarket harness...Plug it in and then look on the backside of the factory harness and see if there is a wire in that spot...If the speakers pop...or there is no wire on the backside of the harness ...means no amp...!

Here is a comment from an internet post... I just went through intsalling a stereo in my 96 Bronco, the amp is under the dashboard, to the right of the steering column. It is the small rectangular box closest to the firewall. I thought it was in the back too, since the wiring harness that Crutchfield gave me was long enough to reach back.

Did you buy a harness...If so plug it in...Just pay attention that the power wires are not close/touching...Then take the + and - lead from the white and WHITE/ black on the aftermarket harness...One lead to each terminal of the battery...! This is also a way of telling polarity if the harness has been cut... Have you tried wiring up the stereo...?
