Well forget the emails, that sheet from kreg is wonderful. Not sure about the factory alarm disarm though, how would you go about it, Ted?

While the imobilizer bypass is still a "key in the box" ( or an ADS RNG SUB with a scan tool ) the IDatalink modules will take care of the factory alarm. You can also turn them off via instructions in the owners manual ( on the Forester anyway ). As for the info, it was from the Omega site. Glad to help.

thanks. Well i have only done one subaru. From the info that i had about the disarm, if the ignition, keysense and transponder are turned on all at once and are valid, it will disarm. since there is no TRUE 2010 legacy bypass, its still based on the forester platform right kregs? so a 2009 forester bypass should work? ------------- Ted

I did a 2010 Forester 2.5i Premium. It had the factory alarm. I used a key in the box and hardwired everything else. With the alarm on and a remote start, the horn would give one long beep before the alarm was canceled. I did not have keysense hooked up. I added the IDatalink ADS AL-CA with AL(DL)-SUB v1.4 firmware because the customer didn't want the alarm turned off. I set the R/S to unlock before start and lock after start ( which leaves the doors unlocked for 4 seconds ). The IDatalink will do the doors and trunk and give you a Tach signal. The IDatalink does not have a Disarm input. It does a disarm with the unlock. Hooking up keysense might work, Ididn't try. Also interupting the cars horn output with a relay while in remote start might be an option. The IDatalink install guides have good diagrams on the wires needed in the BIU. I've got some pictures of the Foresters BIU with wires marked if you need ( to big to post here). Kreg ------------- Soldering is fun!

hey, i appreciate the info. can you email the print out for me? i assume the printout is from omega? Well good news is fortin has the wiring diagram now, but no pictures are available yet. If they are available, i will post them back up. Thanks looks like im going to tackle this and see how it goes. I plan on doing it next week so i got plenty of time to gather info. On the other hand, its my close friends car so i can always come back to it. appreciate the help all. tedmond_do@hotmail.com ------------- Ted

hey kregs, the fortin diagram is useless. it has only the ignition, door lock data wire, park lights, and brakes. also the BIU wiring, the colours are not the same from the picture i have. would the pinout still be the same?

The pictures I sent are of the Forester and I got the feeling there are alot of differences between it and your Legacy. Both in wire position and color. I would go with the 2010 Legacy listing above. There is good access to the BIU and with a DMM I was able to locate and verify all the R/S wires needed in 30 minutes. Seems strange that the Foresters 4 BIU plugs were different colors and the Legacys are all listed as white. Going by the < size=6 face=FuturaStd-Heavy>< size=6 face=FuturaStd-Heavy>ADS-AL(DL)-SUB install guide, they call the 35 pin plug, where most of the necessary wires are, connector C and is in the same position as the Light Blue Forester plug. The Leagcy 31 pin plug is connector D and in the same position as the Blue Forester plug. They even have the connectors pins numbered. If the listing above is accurate, the IDatalink install guide should make things easier. ( It matches OK with location and color for the CAN H & L and the keyless data wires.)
