Hey all,

I have a scytec galaxy 2000 installed in my 05 Nissan Titan. Im just tinkering around with putting a linux box on the truck to do some 'random' things. I have a sensor on my linux box that waits for a voltage spike to signal a program to initiate.

What I would like to know is what is the best way to know when a car has been started, and be able to feed that into this sensor. Any thoughts would be awesome!

Charge lamp circuit. Goes to +12V when charging.

Hey Thanks!!

Would you have any suggestions as to a way to find this on most vehicles?

The D+ or L wire from the voltage regulator - ie, alternator.

It should go to the ground of the dash's charge bulb - maybe via a diode, and maybe via other diodes to other dash lamps (eg - brake fault) (all diodes being in the dash) - or it could power a relay etc.
Hence stick with the alternator end...
