I have a 07 Ford Edge (automatic) and I need to find out the color of the REVERSE wire so I can hook the aftermarket rear-view camera up to it.

Any help here?

Are you connecting the rear-view camera to the rear of the vehicle?  If so, connect it to the back-up light wire so that when the car is in reverse the camera should be activated.

its a wireless back up camera that is on the liscence plate.  I have the rear portion of it connected to the reverse lights but I figured that the front portion of the camera (behind the deck that has the video jack in to the stereo) had to connect to the reverse also to make the camera kick on and show the picture on the deck once reverse is engaged.

If I power the device up by the deck to have accessory power then it will always be tripping the head unit to kick on the rear camera cause there is power to the vid input....but there will be no pic cause the camera itself will not be powered in the back....make sense?  or am I wrong...the guy told me that the camera will take over and show a pic once reverse is engaged, so I figured the vid input needed to be powered when in reverse at the head unit.

I dd just try with the receiver portion of the wireless camera up at the head unit hooked into the "acc" and it kept the screen blank until I put it in reverse and the camera itself got power from the reverse lights in the back.

SO...I need to find a wire up in the dash area that gets power when the car is in reverse....HELP?

I have my monitor on the dash of my work van and wired into a constant 12 volt source. The monitor has a on/off button which I turn on in the morning and leave it on all day.  I have on many occasions left it on over the weekend and it has not drained the battery.  So i imagine if you wanted to have the monitor come on at the same time as your reverse lights are activated, you could run a wire from your reverse lights to your monitor to power it on.
