I have a mitsubishi/chrysler corp. original equipment CD player tuner. I would like to find out what the extra wires attached to the back of the unit are for. they are colorcoded violet--yellow/black. the vehicle it came out of is a 2000 Chrysler Town& Country. I presume they might be alarm wires, but not sure.

More likely VSS or steering column control leads

Amateurs assume, don't test and have problems; pros test first. I am not a free install service.
Read the installation manual, do a search here or online for your vehicle wiring before posting.

It would be easier for me to help you if I had a picture of the plug on the back of the radio.  The plug and the location of the extra wires.

I made a mistake on the colorcode for the wires , they are WHITE/ black---violet/brown--its hard to see the colors

Rookies can upload images. Please try again and make sure the file size is not larger than 500 KB. If it is, you can add it in the downloads section if necessary.
