hello all,

I have a problem with my montero remote, that is bugging me:

I bought an aftermarket remote from keylessride, which worked for about 10 days. Then it stopped working, I got a replacement from them but now, I can't even get it programmed one, although the car goes in programming mode.

I suspect the RECEIVER. Do you know, how to test it? Is it under the dash? I haven't done much in that area, can I test it with a circuit tester? I've read, I could "ground the receiver wire and the locks should circle" (said a locksmith) but I don't know where or how.

Thanks in advance for your answer.
Best, Sebastian

Do you have a factory system or an aftermarket?
The factory system requires that you gain access to the remote keyless module in order to put it into learning mode if you do not have the proper scan tool. The remote keyless module is located behind right side rear quarter panel.
