Hello
I am trying to get help with installing the idatalink(ADS-AL-CA) on a 2010 Tahoe.
I am not sure how or where to get the vehicle data from the 2010 and connect it to the Tahoe. I would like to start with getting the door/trunk status from the ADS-AL-CA.
I am DIYer and a novice installer and so would greatly appreciate links/docs if any available.

Sorry for the slow response.  The iDatalink ADS AL CA should be flashed with ADS AL(DL) GM3 Ver 4.8 for your application.  This requires a special ADS USB cable.  Here is a link to iDatalink site for install guide download :  https://www.idatalink.com/helpdesk/

There are 2 ways to install this bypass module in your vehicle following the install guide #2930.  Type 2 install uses the ADS RNG GM3 for the PK3 transponder bypass function and only draws 7mA at rest.  The Type 3 install will do the PK3 bypass without the ADS RNG GM3 but draws 30mA at rest which can drain the battery if the vehicle isn't used frequently.

After the module is wired up to the vehicle, you must do the Install Mode Selection as detailed on Page 8 of the install guide.  Next, perform the Programming Procedure.  The module is now ready to go.

The module supplies (-) Door status from the Yellow/Black wire.  The module supplies (-) Trunk status from the Yellow/Red wire.  The module can supply (-) Hood Status on the Green wire if the vehicle has a factory hood pin.
