Behind glove box to the right is the main loom, vertical, adjacent to the radio.
Ignition 1 thick black, Ignition 2 thick black (1 will drop under cranking). Starter black red.
Indicators, BLACK/ white and BLACK/ red, same place.
Hood, (bonnet) BROWN / green
Doors, grey.
Hatch, BROWN / white.
Lock and window/roof close,blue/red-
Unlock WHITE/ black-
Location BCU/and factory alarm if fitted, behind/hand kick panel
Hood can also be picked up in engine glove box loom, hatch at plug in front of left hand rear light unit. I'm giving you these options because the availability at the BCU box varied.
Deadlock, blue/black + use a relay. also BCU box. Best grounds, brown in first loom, or bolts on sill adjacent to BCU box.
Note please test I'm doing this list from memory, also multiple use like Ford of the same colour, e.g. BROWN / white is also the handbrake signal wire.

Sorry, forgot tach, light green in that original loom, DO NOT pick it up at the injectors, causes problems.
If it's a 650, add 2 short mounting strips push up behind the cross brace to the right side of the glove box and tap-tight up there.
That loom can also be accessed by removing the slot between ashtray and heater controls. Getting to the loom behind the ignition switch is a PITA.

decided that the intellistart 4 should also make an appearance on this car, the alarm is now installed and working great thanks to the great info from howie II, it made life so much easier with the knowledge that he has, if its not too much trouble could anyone also give me a guide to the connections needed to put intellistart 4 onto this vehicle

thanks   nick

Light green TACH wire in that main loom at the glove box, or remove the lower pocket in centre console, that's where the loom is. The HANDBRAKE lead joins the loom there coming up from behind the ashtray, it's BROWN / white.
2nd. ignition, black at the same loom, ACC thin red again there or radio loom.
Foot brake is I believe WHITE/ black, left floor side of passenger kick-panel.
Can't think of anything else. You've already done your start and ign 1, immobiliser leads on the 650.
If you've set up the original alarm as comfort close, this may not work when you set up manual transmission reservation mode.

hi

thanks for the quick reply, so all i need is to connect the start and ign 1 from intellistart to the same points as the 650 and then add a ign 2 and acc which i take to be the ORANGE / gray and orange  in the H1 harness, its going onto an auto so i will ground BLACK/ green and the tach is already connected to the 650, do i keep the tach on the 650 or just connect to the intellistart module? i presume also that i will need to use a bypass kit for the immobiliser.

thanks    nick

Disconnect the tach from the 650 and reconnect it to the I/Start.
If you've already connected the BROWN / red and BROWN / white to the brake light and a constant, leave them in place. Don't bother with the brake light feed on the I/start.
As for by-pass, 556U OR remove one of the RFID chips from a key and glue using an acrylic glue to the TOP of the plastic antenna housing around the ignition switch, it works fine, don't forget you've already immobilised the vehicle via the 650 so there's no legal obligation to leave the OEM immobiliser active,

hi

thanks for the great info again, all connection have been made now but i am having trouble getting the intellistart to behave,

connections made as follows

GREEN/ black to ground as car is auto

BLACK/ gray to green tach under radio(3.6v on dmm at idle)

black to ground

red +12v

brake pedal was already connected on the 650

blue/green connected to reverse light +12v

WHITE/ black to hood input

on the H1 9 pin connector

WHITE/ blue to starter(engine side)

GREEN/ blue to ign 1 keyside

both reds to 30a fused at battery

ORANGE / gray to ign 2

orange to acc wire at radio

all this connected, tach confirms when programmed and the chip was placed at the ignition switch and car starts no problem with the chip out of the key

the car lights up on dash, makes all the right noises and cranks, occasionally starts and then shuts back down almost straight away, reading through your previous replies i have checked and double checked the tach wire and voltage from the tach, also the immobiliser has the chip in place at the ignition switch and has no problem at all when started with the key, the only things i have noticed is that the ign 2 connection doesnt drop when cranking on istart but does when using the key and also the acc wire seems to lag behind as the istart applies the voltage after the initial crank, im just wondering if this might seem at all familiar for anyone that has connected the istart to the astra car and if anyone has any idea's on what to try next, i have measured all voltage at the istart and all connections show correct.

                 thanks    nick

GREEN/ blue to ign ENGINE side, NOT key side.
Normally if tach wasn't programmed correctly, either the starter motor would grind on or the engine would start and run for 15 seconds then shut down.
Have you possibly confused ign 1 and ign 2?

Try disconnecting the bonnet switch which incidentally should have gone to the grey on the 650, not the WHITE/ black on the I/Start.
Red 5 amp should have gone with the two thick reds to the battery.
