Hey guys, im new to these forums so if i dont explain something properly or if you have questions about my issue please ask, but i will try my best.

I have a 2011 chevy silverado 2500 work truck. I bought a remote starter from my local NAPA auto parts store. I installed everything, programmed the fob and hit the start button. I tried to start (turned over 3 times) but never did start. I read further in the book and found out i needed a universal bypass module, so i went back and got one from NAPA. The book said the chevy truck had the passlock II type so i am trying to hook it up for that. It is having me hook it up the resistance type way. I hooked up all the wires except for 2 of them and it says they go to a 3 wire harness on the ignition lock cylinder. I looked everywhere and i dont see a 3 wire harness on the ignition lock cylinder, just a 4 wire harness, and it doesnt have the color wires it tells me to look for. Its telling me to look for an ORANGE / black wire and a yellow wire, i cant find either of them.  My guess is im supposed to hook to these wires but i dont know which ones. My universal bypass module also came with the loop you wrap around the ignition cylinder and place the key in the module so i dont know if that is an option instead. Either way im just wondering if anyone has any helpful information at all to help me out. Thanks in adnvance.

If you stick the key in the ignition but not turn it, and activate the remote start and it works then your wiring is all good and the fault is solely in the bypass. In this case I am not sure what you picked up from NAPA but if you dont mind losing one of your keys and putting it in a bypass module then you should get a 556u bypass. It gets power ground and the status output or ground while running wire from your remote start and the key goes in the module and thats it, IF you do not want to give up the key then its more complicated but pick up a bd-all. It will come programmed and with wiring instructions. good luck.

I have a similar problem with my 2011 Sierra. The 556u seems to be working as the security symbol on the dash goes out when the imobilizer ring is places around the ignition.  My issue is wireing. My truck will not turn over.  Not sure what to do with the starter wire from the remote start.  I read that it should go on the pink/black with the second accesarry wire.  That doesn't seem to work.  Tried as a positive and negitive output.  I get 12volts on the pink/black as soon as the key goes in to the cylindar.  Do I need to replicate this with the remote start.

I forgot, for some strange reason the truck did remote start about four times randomly but I don't know why as I did not do anything differently.
