I'm trying to find the "trunk output" on my factory keyless entry. I recently bought the bronco and discovered it had factory keyless entry. So on a hunch I bought a key fob for a car off of e-bay, and sure enough when I hit the trunk button the dome light cuts on and I can hear a relay click for the trunk. I did this hoping to install a window module that will roll down my rear window when the trunk button is pressed. I saw the wire code for a ford car and it states that a purple / YELLOW wire would go to the trunk. But I checked my keyless entry and there is no purple / YELLOW wire.
:errr:There seems to be a few pins left empty on the plugs going into the factory keyless entry, I'm guessing one of these is the actual power trunk output. So my question is, sense I have no power trunk wire what pin on the ford car keyless entry would the purple / YELLOW wire have been on? If someone could give me a picture or even tell me what color wire it would be next too.
I would also like to know what to use to trigger this power window module I ordered. I'm not sure to supply it with a (-) or (+) trigger, it only says 500ma activation.
Thanks, Chad
I have a 1992 Bronco and I use an aftermarket alarm to roll down the rear window. You can do it with your keyless entry of you find the trunk output of it. Once you find it, determine if it is a + or - output and also determine if it is pulsed or latched. Latched would mean it holds a pulse while the button is pushed. Being that it is a factory keyless entry system it is probably a 1 sec pulse. The rear window of the bronco takes about 9-10 seconds to roll down. To convert a 1 second pulse input to a 10 second timed output purchase a PAC TR-7. Use the TR-7 to sink a relay to 12 volts and hook that up to the roll down wire, which as you said is the Purple / YELLOW.
