I am trying to install a remote start on a 2006 GMC Sierra - base model (NO DOOR LOCKS OR ELECTRIC WINDOWS). The remote start is a Galaxy G40RS. I am having difficulties bypassing the security/theft system.

Your truck has the Passlock2 immobilizer system.  There are many ways to bypass that system during
remote start.  If you have a Digital Multi Meter, a soldering gun, two 30/40 Amp SPDT relays and an
assortment of resistors ( or a Radio Shack nearby ), you could go with this old, reliable method :

As for basic, reliable bypass only modules, here are just a few that are available for your truck :

DEI 556LW  This bypass learns the resistor value and supplies it to the truck during remote start.

iDatalink ADS-TBSL PL   This is a Data type bypass.  Very reliable, no wires to cut and very easy to install.

Fortin Passlock-SL2-V2  Fortin quality, reliable & no wires to cut.
