Hey folks been gone away for awhile but now I'm back.
At any rate I have a 1989 Nissan Pathfinder and the color wires in the dash don't match the ones listed in the Vehicle Database.
In the dash there are a couple of black wires and several brown, green and pink wires hanging where the former owner cut the harness out and now the new owner wants to actually put a factory Nissan radio back in the dash.
Any info is greatly appreciated in advance.

Two words: digital multimeter. hahaha no but seriously if those colors do not match up with the wires in the vehicle than I wouldn't be surprised if other wiring info did the same thing. But remember, regardless of whatever wiring info guides/diagrams you might have, we'd still insist that you use your multimeter and speaker popper to verify all the wires BEFORE making any connections.
You're gonna need a reverse harness like the Metra 71-1763 in order to be able to have something to plug in to the back of the factory radio that you're installing. Each wire in the harness should be labeled with its own function so once you've tested all the factory wires it's pretty easy to do the rest.

Thanks for the kind words,I already have the 71-1763 harness and before a severe thunder storm came through and knocked out the shops power I did find the constant power, front speakers - driver side(BROWN / white stripe +,brown -)passenger side(BLACK/ white stripe +,black -)and the four pink/blue stripe wires have 12 + on them when you switch on the parking/head lights.
I will be going out shortly to start again worst case I will be pulling the rear panels out to confirm the rear speakers.
The one of the main problems is that the customer has no dash lights, will not having the factory radio cause this or is it as I told them that the former owner from cutting wires must have shorted something out in the process?
