On a 2012 Subaru Outback,
Does anyone here know where the Neutral positioin sensor/switch or park position wire is located?
I want to have access to a door unlocker to fire when the shifter (automatic) is in neutral or park.
It would be most appreciated!
Aloha from Hawaii!

Engine ECU, go to a dealer/library/online and check the pin-outs.
Also at the (manual) gearbox.

Read the installation manual, do a search here or online for your vehicle wiring before posting.

neutral safety wire - GREEN/ black @ ECM 35 pin plug, pin 35
ECM is below glovebox(not behind), under the carpet, against the firewall.

Your response seems to refer to a Manual Transmission. Is it the same for an automatic?
ie. Neutral and Park positions?
would you have any picture of the location?
Thank you!
p.s. on the op:
How would I find a dealer/library/online? Would/could you provide a link, please?
Thank you too!

Neutral safety is only normally used with reference to a remote start.
Dealer = Subaru dealer.
Library = your local library, most US libraries carry or can get the factory service manuals IM experience.
On-line? Are you having a joke with these questions?
I strongly suggest from your replies to get someone competent to do this for you.

Competency is not an issue. I can design and install anything on a vehicle, and have experience in vehicular wiring. However, in the US, the information is not readily available for FREE.
I have designed and installed an auto-lock system for a Scion that is not available anywhere. It works wonderfully well, and has had no issues whatsoever. I just want information BEFORE I go ahead with reckless abandon!
Finding information is the issue, as the 2012 Subaru Outback is new and has limited resources as yet. Here is an example of what I have designed for the Scion:

I'm sorry, I never looked for it on a Automatic Transmission. I think its only there for manual transmissions. I quickly read your post and didn't see that you were asking for a automatic. If that wire is not there on automatics, then I don't know where else you can find what you are looking for.

If auto it will either be at the gear shift base, a microswitch cluster or at the instrument panel if there's a gear shift display.
This whole post is so basic knowledge which is why I'm suggesting you don't do it!
