I am going to be installing an alarm in a 2000 Chrysler Sebring Convertible and I am a little confused on what to connect to the factory disarm wire. I am installing a Crime Stopper CS-2000DPII. Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thank You

What did you find for door unlock?  A lot of times it is the same wire.

If you're installing just an alarm it's irrelevant, only applies to remote starts.

@i am an idiot
For the door unlock I found this on another website.

This vehicle uses a 1-Wire Door Locking System that requires a (+)Positive to LOCK
and a (+)Positive thru a 1500 Ohm Resistor to UNLOCK, some units will also require
2 extra relays part, to connect

@HowieII
Thank you, I am not installing a remote start alarm this time, but if I do decide to install one at a later time will the alarm have an output for factory alarm disable?

I think you will find that the multiplex (1 wire) system is NEG not POS, also most R/S units have a provision for factory alarm disable.

Here this is the info that is provided on this website

Door Lock      WHITE/ Light Green (+)      20 Pin Connector at BCM Driver's Kick Panel
Door Unlock      WHITE/ Light Green (+)      Single Wire 270 Ohm

Here is the info provided on another website

This vehicle uses a 1-Wire Door Locking System that requires a (+)Positive to LOCK and a (+)Positive thru a 1500 Ohm Resistor to UNLOCK, some units will also require 2 extra relays.

How do I determine which one is correct?

Actually it's a 2 wire NEG lock and unlock which also enables and disables the factory alarm look at ready remote they have your wiring info.

TEST.
P.S.If it already has a factory alarm, why are you attempting to install one?

The dealer wants $100 to program the factory remotes, and the factory alarm doesn't have shock sensors.

I have a free alarm that a friend gave me so I wanted to install it and figured this is the perfect time to do so.

Here is where it gets interesting;
DEI and Audiovox (trade only sites) state NEG lock and unlock via 2 wires.
Bulldog says what you've posted.
Personally I'd go with the first two.
Also remember there's no such thing as a free lunch.

How would I test the wire in the car to check if it is a (-) or (+) lock and unlock

With a DMM.

SO if I hook up my meter to ground and the door lock wire, when I hit unlock and lock what should i see on the meter?

It doesn't work that way, find the suspect wire then with the required resisters and a piece of wire, attach each resistor in turn, lock first then ground it. If that doesn't work attach to a 12V+ constant.
In the worse case scenario you will blow a fuse.

Here is a link to the DEi Tech Tip #1041  :  https://www.the12volt.com/installbay/file.asp?ID=708   In it you will find a lot of useful info on door lock types & systems.

If you have the convertible, the locks should be one-wire positive.

 If you have the coupe, they should be Type B (-).

The difference is the Sebring Coupe versus the sebring Convertible. I believe back then, the coupe was made by Mitsubishi and the convertible was built by Chrysler. That is why the coupe has standard negative locks and the Convertible has the Chrysler one-wire system for door locks. Any how, You can use your Light GREEN/ orange wire located in the drivers kick panel to lock/unlock your car as well as arm/disarm. You will need 2 relays and wire it as positive through a 470 ohm resistor for disarm/unlock and a 940 ohm resistor(Two 470 ohm resistors wired end to end) will lock/arm the car. On unlock, the first pulse will disarm the factory alarm, but leave the doors locked, a second pulse will unlock the doors. This means you will need to set your unit to double pulse unlock in the programmable feature menu of your unit.

Relays gets wired as so:
Lock/Arm relay
86 & 87 to fused 12 volts
85 to your lock output from your unit
30 goes through the 940 ohm resistor and connected to the light GREEN/ orange wire

Unlock/disarm relay
86 & 87 to fused 12 volts
85 to your unlock & disarm output from your unit
30 goes through the 470 ohm resistor and connected to the same light GREEN/ orange wire as above.

Again, set your unit to double pulse unlock.

The way you want to test the light GREEN/ orange wire will be to put your meter's black probe to ground and to attach your red probe to the suspected wire. You will turn the key in the door key cylinder to the wire. You can hold the key cylinder to lock or unlock cylinder while you are testing. Because there is resistance, the reading will not be 12volts. Locks voltage will be lower then unlock on the same light GREEN/ orange wire.

Flobee, if you set your DMM to resistance and the red to 12V+ with the black to the wire, then trigger lock and unlock, won't that give you the correct resistances?
I just can't get over the POS locking when all the other multiplex locks I've ever come across were NEG
