Looking for remote start wiring for a 2011 VW Tiguan. Not sure if it is the same as the 2009 or not.

Hi Kenny,
Never did one but Fortin's WireColor does list it and it has the same number of wires and photos listed for the years 2008 thru 2011, if that can be assumed to mean they are the same. The Fortin EVO-ALL bypass module shows the 2008 thru 2012 as having the same functions and wiring for those years also.
For what it's worth, ADS groups the 2009 thru 2011 together and lists the 2012 thru 2013 separately.
Think I'd use an EVO-ALL and spend some time on the "key-wrap".

Yea, I was figuring on the key wrap just wasn't quite sure about the ignition colors and parking lights mainly (since the bypass controls most of the rest). ReadyRemote has the 2009, I just wasn't sure if the 2011 was the same or not. Looks like I'll probably just go with that if nothing else comes up and hope for the best... lol. I really hate poking around VW's trying to find wires.
I was planning on using the blade AL but I'll look into the EVO ALL.

The Blade AL should work well, too. If you have an EVO-ALL, look in the box for the WireColor free pass. I usually save them up on the easy vehicles to use on the "beasts".

Yea, I had a few saved up from those, but the 3 cars I did actually use them on ended up being wrong... lol. I've had great luck with readyremote so far. The only time it's ever been wrong was on the 2012 WRX but I think that was more because the car was an early production and still had the 2011 wiring.

Forget a key wrap. The RF is too low powered use a 556U wired Euro Style, i.e. cut, join and don't use the loop.
I notice those other instructions agree with what DEI said about no changes, 07 to now.

Hey Guys so I found this post hoping to find the same answers you are looking for. No clear answers found so, I made my into the unknown (2011 VW Tiguan) to figure it out myself.
The wiring colors on the 2011 are slightly different then the 2009 and down.
So here's the good news: It is possible to install a remote start in this car. I used a compustar 7200 and a blade AL for the security bypass, locks and general data. The annoying thing on these VW's is you must loose a key under the dash and do the old wire rap trick around the key and the ignition cylinder in order for the car to start and run for more then 2 seconds.
I was about to give up hope while testing these small wires under the steering column and then I found the ignition wire. Test these as you would the larger old school wires expect use a voltmeter instead of a test light just to be safe. The ignition wire is a black wire right near the clockspring wires. The connector has at least 10 pins in it. The start wire is also in this harness. I don't remember the color cause i wasn't planning on posting this.(sorry!) It might be RED / black as the 09 was but I think it might be different. But use a volt meter and it will be the wire that has 12 volts on it only while the key is in the crank/start position. I didn't need an accessory wire as the heater works when the ignition is on.
The blade install uses two CAN wires for data. CAN high and CAN low. They are a twisted pair; colors are ORANGE / Light Green(high) and ORANGE / Brown(Low)
They can be found in the drivers Kick harness but WARNING!
Their is more then one twisted pair with the same colors. This confused me for a long time while I wondered why it wouldn't program. But heres a tip: You cant really read data with out a computer right? Well maybe you can....sorta. I found that the first pair had 2.5 volts on them and when I hit the lock and unlock nothing changed. But on the correct pair when you hit the lock and unlock you will see the voltage jump all over on your voltmeter only while pushing these buttons. That tells me that the wires are transmitting some data related to the door locks.
I would do this install again in a heart beat as your only hooking up 6 wires plus the bypass key coil. All the other inputs are sent through data(brake swith, hood pin, parklights etc)
Knowing what I do now it would be a quick install.
