I was hoping to tie my RS to the rear defroster.  I have a Viper 5101 and it's got an output for that and can be configured to either pulse or latch when the temperature is below 55F.  I'm hoping I could tie it into the existing relay control circuit so the RS would trigger the same existing relay that the factory push button is.

Would anyone know where I might find the wire to tie it into on a 2003 Toyota Highlander?

I did some testing in the factory switch area and did find one possible candidate, but would much rather get some feedback from someone who either knows, or has done it before.

Thanks!

Thanks. I believe that's the wire I had at the connector.

This might be a stretch, but would you have any idea if that circuit requires a pulse or latch? I know the stock system is on a timer, so I'm guessing pulse. Then would the button light up when on via the RS? At least with the light I'd have some indication that it did come on.

I would have no idea. Always test and verify all wires with a DMM.  On my Ford Taurus and Corolla the light comes on for defrost via the R/S.

Thanks again.  Maybe that'll get tested out this weekend.  After getting the RS in there I'm not in so much of a rush to dive back in....yet.  posted_image
