Oem amp is fiber optic so you need to bypass it

Don't even go there!

Leave well alone and learn to spell Porsche. If it's the Sat Nav version you might pick up the speaker leads at the amp, r/h/rear but it's all fibre optics, no cutting or joining.
$625 sounds about right for that vehicle.

Re-wire from headunit to "new" speakers. As Howie said, it's a 10 foot stick car but nothing's impossible.

I wonder if any Audi installation kit will help, also you will need an antenna conversion kit from the twin Fakra plugs.

I doubt it since it is a mid generation Bose system. By 2006 most of the Bose amps were CAN or DATA controlled but it wouldn't hurt to pull out the deck and see what the connector looks like but in the end the amp is still a fiber optic input type amp.

The whole point is that the Bose system probably SOUNDS BETTER than any replacement.
You'd probably have to replace head unit, amplifier AND speakers.

Factory setup in that car isn't bad for a Bose. But the amp does need to be bypassed. You can tag all the wires at the amp in the front boot. If If remember correctly, the front speakers may all have individual wires exiting the amp, 3 speakers in each door, and center channel. You will have to get creative to retain all the channels (3-way crossover, 6 channel amp, etc)

Easiest way to get this done though is the Nav-tv Most-Hur997 module. $650... Radio, Kit, module, done in an hour...
