Hi all,

I purchased a Compustar FT-6300A-Controller. I'm looking for some help on installing this to be able to use the compustar FT-EZGO handsfree keyless entry. I have a 2013 Ford Ranger in Thailand and I have the wiring diagram for this truck.

The Compustar unit did come with some installation instructions showing which leads are for both lock and unlock function.

My question is, where are these wired into on the truck? Can I just wire it into the lock/unlock switch in the truck or do I need to find where the current key fob wireless unit activates the locks.

Any help would be appreciated.

OK, now having done some more searching on this site I see that there are guides for exactly what I asked.posted_image

Can anyone tell me which system this is?

They stopped the Ranger in the U.S. a few years ago. If your 2013 is the same as the U.S. 2011
model, look for the Smart Junction Box in the Passenger Kick Panel. Here is the info :

Power Lock        Gray / YELLOW (-)     @ SJB, Black 32 pin plug (C), pin 5
Power Unlock       PURPLE / gray (-)     @ SJB, Black 32 pin plug (C), pin 9

If that is the same and they test as Type B (-) negative locks and you can connect the Compustar
Blue/Black Lock and Blue Unlock wires directly to these vehicle wires.

Soldering is fun!

OK, thanks for that, I will look for that, but I don't think it will be there as this new Ranger was designed in Australia and is totally different from the old US model. The central locking switch is on the center console and it looks like I can use that but may need to use the relay setup described on the quick link.

Try a late Mazda pickup truck, the same vehicle and made in Thailand.

Also can you display a legible version of the vehicle lock/unlock circuits ?
Can't make out what you've displayed.

That seems to be the best image that I can do a screen grab on, but here is a close up of the switch:

C2PK29-5 goes to ground.

Good idea about the Mazda though, thanks.

Terminal 6 but it appears like the Mazda to be a one wire resistive system aka multiplex wiring.
Test by cutting that wire then running a DMM set to 2K or more ohms range. One way, say lock should read 0 ohms, the other way say unlock 1k ohm or whatever, read the relay section here on central locking types, multiplex.
