Help!  I'm installing a stereo in my toyota and it has no factory stereo wiring harness.  Does anyone know where to find the ignition source and also the constant 12v source?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks again.

Hi Reddleman, if you can not locate any leads in the stereo location, you can always get a constant and accessory source at the ignition switch harness. Just be sure to fuse them appropriately.

What do you mean fuse them?  My stereo has a 20amp fuse on it.  Do I need inline fuses?  If so, what amp or voltage?

Toyota always use the same color code for the stereo.

Brown - Ground

Grey - 12 Volt Constant

Blue / YELLOW  - Accesories

Dark Green - Illumination

Rigth Front speakers - Light Green (+) Blue (-)

Left Front speakers - Pink (+) Purple (-)

Right Rear speaker - Red (+) White (-)

Left Rear speaker - Black (+) Yellow (-)

Note that the rear speakers always comes in a separate group.

You always would want to fuse your electronics. It's better to be safe than sorry. posted_image
