2006 F-150 Wiring Harness To Aftermarket Harness

Could someone help me out with how to wire the after market harness head unit to the harness that will go into the factory harness in my 2006 Ford F-150 4x4 4.6L crew cab please. I did have it all hooked up but the problem was that when I opened my driver door the unit was not shutting off. As it did when the factory unit was in. Now I think cuz of that my battery died cuz there was Constant power being used not sure if that is why or right but that is my assuming. If anyone could help me out to why this is happening or a wiring diagram that would be awesome. Maybe I just got the wiring messed up a bit or something idk.

Oops I guess I should say what the after market head unit is I am trying to hook up here.
It is just a Sony and model no. XSP-N1BT

Did you twist the red and yellow wires of the radio together and connect them to the yellow wire of the truck harness?

I did but now that I think about it I might have put the yellow and red ones together from the truck harness and then just the yellow on the head unit together with them. So I will ty it the way you said and see if that works. Thank you and I will let you know if it worked or not

I did not say to do anything. I was just asking a question. That is the only way I could think of that would make it do what you are saying. Connect yellow to yellow and red to red. Do not twist them together.

Ok sorry my bad for assuming I didn’t do that tho anyway. And all tho for when I had it hooked up there last time I had to twist another one to the red or yellow for it to even power up I forget what colour it was exactly but either way I am starting to wire it together now today but I do know that just doing the yellow to yellow and red to red will not work cuz it will not even power up like that. So I am confused on what is going on really cuz it should at least power up with it like yellow to yellow, red to red and black to black and so on with the speaker wires. Is that not correct?? But there last time I had to put one of the colours with the yellow I believe an then it powered up but like I was say when you opened the door it would not shut off and there was Constant power going to it all the time

Test both the red and yellow for power with your multimeter. Red should be switched with the key, yellow should be constant.

Look in your owner's manual for fuses. Check every fuse in the vehicle- both under the hood and inside.

Pin 16 (YE) of the XSP-N1BT needs to go to constant power.

Pin 15(RD) of the XSP-N1BT needs to go to the accessory output of your SWI.


The enabling of the radio is handled by the vehicle's CAN-Bus signals (AFAIK).
