Hotwiring 92 Oldsmoblie Silhouette

I noticed 2 redwires and was wondering do both do the same job. I viewed the wiring layout.Constant 12V+     Red      Ignition Switch Harness

The 2 battery feed wires at the ignition switch split the load for the ignition, accessory and starter circuits. If you are installing a remote starter with 2 or more battery inputs, you should use both and split the load for the remote starter inputs as well.

Ok so how do i connect them correctly to start the vechile. Do i connect both reds together with the others??
I think i saw 2 reds, 1 pink, 1 orange, one yellow, 1 brown. This is my 1st time trying this. And i belive the reason its not starting is due to bad fuel pump. I had 2 different people replace the fuel pump. And its still not starting so im trying to do it myself. The ignition was locked so i had to result to wiring

Why did you replace the fuel pump? Was your fuel pressure low? Did you backprobe the connector at the fuel pump to see what voltage you're getting?

Check the pink wire at the ignition switch for 12 volts power while cranking and with the key in the run position. Check the yellow wire for 12 volts power while turning the key to crank. If both work then your diagnosis isn't correct.

I don't think he has a key.

This is going to be a costly project. It is not like in the movies where you just twist some wires together. You will need a solenoid and a couple relays, a diode and a couple switches.

If you just want to try and start it before you invest this money, you will need 3 ring terminals that you can place on the 2 red wires and the pink wire. You probably want to solder them onto those 3 wires. Get a nut and a bolt so you can tightly connect those 3 connections. Cut and strip the start wire. Briefly touch start wire to the other 3 connections. I also reccomend that you have the positive battery bolt and the nut on the alternator charge wire loose because you will have to remove those to kill it of it starts. The bolt on the 3 wires under your column may be too hot to disconnect there. If you get it running I can get you a list of stuff you will need and the diagram to replace your switch.

When attaching the 3 ring terminals you need to put the pink wire between the 2 reds.

I got but ignition was locked which resulted in hotwire. Maybe i should reconnect the wires. And use needle nose to turn or start. I also dropped the tank to i guess look at fuel pump. Im no mechanic all i know is it (minivan) worked fine then one day it didn't start was told fuel pump was the issue. Paid twice to have it done and im back a lil pass square 1. Its not starting, tank is dropped, and wires are cut
