Hello,

I have a 2010 Nissan Altima 2.5S (sedan).

Can someone verify what color the wire is for the reverse light? I am going to tie into it for a back up camera --- I am doing this at the front of the Altima 2.5S at the driver's side kick panel location.

I would appreciate it very much if I could get the wire color -- I will still probe it to check and verify using the shift lever into reverse, I just need a starting point? Thanks!

Thank you very much "I am" (and no... you are not "an idiot").

I found a "violet" wire in the bundle on the side wall of the driver's side kick panel pillar, the "violet" wire I am looking at is a solid color (violet aka purple) and is about an 18 or 16 gauge.

Now there is also a smaller gauge wire (20-22) that is purple/violet in color, but it has some silver/white bars on it spaced out along the insulation.

I would tend to think the "heavier gauge wire" which is solid (violet/purple) color -- with no bars is the correct wire -- Which I will probe and check with the shiftermoved to reverse with the key on.

How does that sound?

Thanks again for the help!

I too would think it would be the larger wire. Check it with a meter.

I have a dual polarity test probe, and will check that larger gauge purple wire with it 1st using the Shift from N to R with car running and parking brake set solidly.

Thanks for your help!

I am pretty sure the reverse lights will come on without the motor running in that vehicle. Ignition on, but not running, put it in reverse and see if the lights come on. If they do, check it without the motor running. Press the push to start button twice without your foot on the brake.
