The module still needs to be flashed and you need the flash logic updater and a free log in to the site

Wow. They don't want anyone aside from BBY installing. Talk about your control market! Thanks so much for the quick reply.

both viper and compustar do it that way to get consumers to have a professional installer install them. If you install it there is no warranty on any of it. If we install it there is lifetime warranty on the brain and the install (from BBY) and a 1 year on remote/antenna. Not saying a back yard installer can't do it or shouldn't but the t harness now a day a pretty straight forward. What i wouldn't give for a few of the 200 + RS i put in this time of the year for some one else to do it :). The flashlogic updater is 40 bucks on amazon and the site is free to register. Plus if bought it from BBY you payed for install, why not just let us install it for you. If something happens were fully insured, if you break something your paying for it out of pocket. Draw backs are we are all extremely busy this time of year so there may be a wait, i personally have a 2 1/2 month wait time

You got it exactly right; the install turnaround was two months. I bought a unit at BB last Spring and had them do the install on my wife's car. She got t-boned in September and never got to use it for a Maine winter. So I tried to do a purchase/install this year for Christmas, as a surprise, but they weren't booking until February. I have a trusted mechanic I've used for twenty years, he's done RS installs before...   Got a text message from him shortly after asking for the installation instructions. And now you know how I've spent my day! The link you sent was great, just didn't have a set of installation instructions. Can't tell you how much I appreciate the quick replies and accurate information.
