I have an 88 Fiero and I want to replace my 1988 tape player with a 2001 FACTORY cd/tape receiver part #10311743. I need to know what pins on the back of the new receiver corrispond to Power, Ground, Memory, Speakers, Dim, etc......
Here is a quick diagram of what the new receivers pins look like:
Top
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
The larger "Block" of pins has numbers 1-12 starting from left to right under the block.
Thanks for your help.

This is for referrence only. The diagram that you have doesn't correspond to any of the plugs that I know of, but almost all of the Pontiac CD players that I have installed into have a single plug in the rear of the deck that have 4 parts to it in one molex plug. Half of it is grey and the other half is black.
What vehicle did this come out of ??

I bought the sterio new, it has never been in a car. Pontiac switched plug types in 2001, this is why finding this info has been so hard for me. Here is a pic of the back of the new 2001 receiver:

The link did not work. this error came up :

Is the back of the deck a ribbon type input ? If this is then there is no information on these types of decks yet. If you can email me the picture of the back of the deck to : velocity@valleycable.com I can try to help you out, but no promises as I know most of the newer Pontiacs have the ribbon data cable in the vehicles now.

As far as I know this may be the new ribbon type CD player that requires a special ribbon plug. There is no information about these from either Metra or American International. You may have to return the radio and get one that is 1999 or earlier to be sure so that you can get harnesses for it.
