Greetings Everyone,
I am requesting, if anyone has this info, the wiring diagrams for a 1997 Dodge Dakota so I can install an alram. Alot of the wires I already know but there are a few in the diagram provided by the alarm manufacturer are a bit obscure. Any helo or information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance and have a great day!

Thanks for the speedy reply, The information above is very very helpful. However.... There is one (of many) parts that I can't seem to understand. They have wires for each of the parking lights, L and R respectively, and a wire for the "Parking Light Input Source". Now I already know where to attach the parking light wires because I installed the auto-starter. But I am at a loss as to what they mean by this other wire. Can you help? Thanks

when you say they do you mean the alarm itself?from what i see onyour car there is only 1 parking light wire . If so i assume this alarm has built in relays for light flash. what kind of alarm is this ?
what polarity is the parking liht input source wire ? and what polarity is those outputs left and right?
Its actually a few years old... never had a vehicle I really wanted to put it into... but the Alarm itself is a Crimestoppers Rage II Alarm... model number CS9709DC... I went to their website but they don't list this model anymore... They have a total of three wires... ohh yeah... when I say they I mean the people that either built the alarm or the persons who wrote the instructions... anyway... they have three wires, one for the L parking light, one for the R parking light and one for "Parking light input source"... the one for the input source is fused and the instructions say that "This input wire is for providing the correct polarity to the parking light circut (either + or -). If you ground the input wire, the relay will provide a pulsed ground output. If you connect the input wire to positive battery constant, relay will provide positive 12 volt output." It also says that this wire MUST be connected for the parking lights to work.
Now... it is a good possibility that I am simply not understanding what they want me to do and its a simple solution... help?
Wait a sec.. I think I just figured it out...
They don't give a polarity for the L and R outputs... BUT they do say that they are optional... so does that mean I can connect the 3rd wire, niether L nor R, to the parking light wire that I attached the other wire to? and simply not use these two wires?
