I was wondering if anyone out there knew where the antitheft system disarm wire was on a 2000 ford ranger. I searched the schematics database on this site but the results it gave me says that it's a darkGREEN/ purple wire in a 4 pin connector in the driver's kick panel. I have no 4 pin connector in my driver's side kick pannel. I've opened my steering column to check the actual antitheft portion on the ignition but I cannot find a darkGREEN/ purle wire anywhere. If anyone has any information about the wherabouts of this wire or how I can go about finding it with a multimeter or any other way please post back.

If your looking for the OEM alarm disarm wire it is the darkGREEN/ purple wire , but if your looking at disabling the PATS system permanently, then you have to hook up a key and have it operate whenver you have your ignition on with a key. You also can not use two chipped keys at the same time so you will have to get rid of the chipped key and use a blank key.

So you're saying the darkGREEN/ purple wire is only for a factory alarm system and the PATS system is a totaly diferent component?

Yes, these are two totally different systems.
