I have a '98 Dodge Caravan with Infinity Sound System.  The head unit was replaced by a Sony system, but I kept the original speakers and integrated (I believe) amps.

Everything sounds fine, but I get a loud *POP* on the speakers when the radio is still on when the vehicle is switched off.  Is there any work-around for this annoyance?

I enabled the infinity amps by connecting the black wire from the amps to the new Sony's ground wire.

Try this, install a 4.7 K resistor inline of the remote turn on wire of the Sony deck .

Jeff, thx for the reply.

I tried it, both on the amp remote turn on and the ACC wire.  When installed on the ACC wire, the radio does not switch on at all.  When installed on the remote turn on wire (blue) the amps does not switch on.  I measure 12V on the radio's side of the 4k7 resistor and <0.5V on the amp's side.

What is the rationale behind putting in this resitor?
