Hi, I used to own a Nissan Maxima 2000, and I really liked it's remote keyless entry system - never failed, always reliable. I was wondering if someone could identify that system, so I could find and install on my new vehicle (Honda) the same or similar system? Thanks!

just like you said, it's a Nissan OEM keyless system, you can not get it for your honda. There are a large pile of aftermarket systems you can get for your Honda, but it cost almost the same for a remote start w/ keyless built in. Your best bet would be to get an alarm or remote start system with keyless included, i recommend a DEI system like Avital or Viper, they are expensive but quality units (https://www.directed.com), if your looking to save a little cash but get a quality unit i would recommend an autostart/polarstart/avistart/prostart/etc. These units are avaliable at https://www.autostart.ca Shop around a little. Hope i helped -------------

Thank you! It's a good start for me. I've been looking around and seen some alarm+keyless systems, but it's hard to make a decision on which one to choose - I could not find any comparative reviews on them. I'll check the sites you recommended. Thanks!

Well, now that I've found lots of various alarm/keyless entry systems out there, I have a question (since my honda is brand new) - is it better to install a honda OEM alarm system or go with an aftermarket alarm right off the start?
Honda dealership would charge about $300 + tax, but I have no way to compare capabilities of Honda OEM alarm/keyless entry system vs. the aftermarket ones.... I'd appreciate any pointers, if anyone knows both? Thanks!

I called up American Honda - they confirmed that, provided the installation of an aftermarket alarm/remote keyless entry system does not cause problems of any other system, the warranty would not be violated.
