I have a 97 tacoma. Does anyone know where and what the color is of the wire that turns on the reverse lights.? I can' t seem to find it in any wiring diagrams. Thanks

I'm showing it as RED / black (+) @ switch on transmission. If you don't feel like going to the transmission usually the easiest way to pick it up is to pull off the rear taillight and look at the reverse bulb. Basically the bulb will have 2 wires coming off of it a ground and the other wire will get 12 volts when the car is in reverse. Note the color and then pull off the door sills on both sides of the car and look through the wiring harnesses for that color. This method I would say is successful about 95% of the time. If your installing a backup system just tap it right off the bulb in the rear..
