Hi everyone, this is my first post on this nice newly discovered site.        2000 lincoln navigator- head unit has 3 plugs.  One is the power/speaker plug.   One is the cd changer plug.  The last one is a 4 pin subwoofer output plug.   Does any body know how to make the factory amp/sub work with an aftermarket head.  I tried to meter and simulate the 4 wires but still no workie. The colors if I can remember are ....green, black, red with black, brown with orange.

green seems to be remote turn on at 5 volts

    black seems to be ground

brown with orange seems to be ignition at 5 volts

red with black seems to be a signal input ...... thanks for any info in advance

The Ford Premium wiring harness should solve your problems for you. Just make sure you watch what wires on that amp/sub plug to use. You dont have to use all of the wires, on some models you only have the use the top 4 wires. Just look at the plug and you should see it just fine.

no luck, Ive got 12 years pro experience and I called many other highly skilled installers and they usually just install an aftermarket amp on the factory sub/box. Ive tried a couple of other times before with no luck.
