I am trying to install a Spal window and lock kit; however, I am not all that savvy with electrical wiring. I want to know how to hook up the power source. I know how to find hot wires and I have located a few however, I am not sure how I should do this. I want to hook up the locks to a power source but I am not sure if they need ignition power or what, the diagram shows the the red wire from my kit running to a little picture of a battery. Does that mean I would be okay in running a wire directly off the battery or is there something on the fuse box? I am not sure what color of wire to use out of my Truck. Please let me know the Factory wiring and coloring diagram for a 1999 F-150 XL. Thanks

The one with the picture of the battery us 12v+, it is light green with a purple stripe in the ignition harness, there is also the switched power or ACC in that harness, it is red with a black stripe.

The switches for my power windows needs a light source because they are illuminated from inside the switch. I was wondering if I need to find a wire that illuminates them only when I turn on my headlights or if I use a wire that will illuminate them whenever the car is on (like the lights in the stereo)? Is this possible? I have tested the blue/red wire and it is a switched hot wire---it is hot when the ignition is turned to accessory. I think that i will use this wire to illuminate my switches however I would prefer that the switches are only lit when I have my headlights on. Is this possible? Can someone help me with this?

You might want to consider taking it to a shop to get it done. there's a lot that can go wrong if you use the wrong wire
