You may wanna search around here for silverado. You will find that the 2003 uses the databus.  If you replace the factory radio you will lose some features. I remember reading door chime is one. I cant remember what else. There is a bypass kit made that allows you to keep the factory radio somewhere in the vehicle to avoid the feature losses. Good luck
