yes i need to know if anyone can tell me for sure the location of the ford factory amp in a 1997 eddie bauer expedition. i have the premium jbl audio system...yes it has the factory 8 sub.....anyway i have purchased the amp bypass metro 70-5513..and i need to put it in...i have had people tell me that it is next to the fatcory sub....and others have told me that it is in the dash near front of console.....so is there only one amp that controls all the door speakers and the sub...or are there two amps one for sub and one for rest...bottom line where does this bypass plug in at...sry for long post thanks for your time posted_image

if its like mine... (96 explorer xlt v8) its underneath in the back like along the wheel well u have to disasemble like the whole cargo area

If your antenna is behind your radio then there are two amps as you stated in their respective locations as stated. If not the other poster is correct.

well if there are 2 amps.....i installed the alpine iva-c800 about a year ago i believe the ant. is at the back of radio....where do i use the amp bypass plug or do i need two of themposted_image

i never had to use a bypasser...... i just hooked up the rem from the amp to the deck so itll turn on and presto it works.. at least for me

well for the record i have located both factory amps..it is correct there are in fact 2 amps one in front by console and one in rear by factory sub....however the bypass plug that i have the metro 70-5513..that everyone on the net says i need for my expedition...has two connectors and only one of them actually plugs into a factory harness...the other end doesn't match any plug even in a close proximty of the factory amp at either location.....i know i'm not retarded but if everyone says i need it WHERE DOES IT GO...i have unplugged every connection on the factory amps but no go need some help anybody out there
