I am hooking up an MP3 Headunit into my my 1990 Volvo 740 Turbo Sedan. I've gotten like three different wiring harness and finally have one that fits the factory plug, but the plugs are in the wrong slots. I need to move them around but I am still unsure of the wire colors. If anyone has every done an aftermarket install in a 1990 Volvo 740 I would greatly appreciate the help. Thanks!

Thanks for the quick reply, unfortunetly harness is different...

_1_ _3_ _5_ _7_ _9_ _11_ _13_ All I have is:

_2_ _4_ _6_ _8_ _10_ _12_ _14_ Pin 7 White
Pin 9 GREEN/ Red

Pin 11 Orange

Pin 6 Yellow/White

Pin 8 Blue

Pin 10 Black

Pin 12 GREEN / WHITE

I also have a midi/din type plug to factory amp I need to figure out or bypass. If anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it!

1990 to 92 model 740 series volvo are not the same as earlier models.

Dash speakers: 3.5" (attached to grille as 1 piece)
Front door location: 5" (6.5" shallow depth)
Rear door: 5" (5.25" shallow depth)

Here's a diagram for 91, should be same for all 90 thru 92 740 series cars. (In PDF format, requires Adobe Acrobat Reader version 4 or above. File size is just over 1mb.)
