Hey,

I've had a look at the wire colours for an '89 Escort here, but they don't match my car. My switched 12v is yellow, not yellow/black, and my left front speakers are WHITE/ black and yellow/black, not ORANGE / green and blue/light green.

I can't tell what the rest of the wires are, most importantly constant 12v. My head unit died yesterday after I took it out, and I'm concerned that I might have blown a fuse trying to fix it because without the ignition, none of the wires are giving me 12v.

Maybe the wire colour differences are because my Escort is UK? Some help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

I already have a multimeter, that's how I found the switched 12v. I have no idea how to test for ground, but I have a feeling there's a brown ground wire in there.

The red wire (which with common sense, and by process of elimination, I have convinced myself is supposed to be constant 12v), doesn't have 12v through it. Not even when the engine is running. I think a fuse may have gone, but would that still allow the switched 12v to work? If a fuse is the problem, I have no idea where the second fuse box in my car is :|

well if it dosent have 12v through it that means u dont have power to that wire so my best recomendation is if u dont find power anywhere just take positive 12v frm the cigaret lighter or under ur steringcolumn anywhere where u find positive 12v and connect it to ur radio ...and the ground frm the radio put it to chassis ground that should work
