Hello Everyone,

Have a 1996 Lincoln town car with the JBL system (Tuner, AMp and Sub in the trunk).  Wife wants a CD player, but not an add on changer with FM interface, so we bought a CD/MP3/AM/FM unit and mounting kit... Also bought the wiring adapter, but it only supplies power to the head unit...  Ran speaker wires back to the trunk and bought a connector to plug on to the output of the amp for speaker interface...  Hooked it up...  Sounds like heck... very flat, tinny, not very good and not very loud.  Most likely because these speakers are designed for the amp etc in the vehicle...

Is there any info on how I can hook up Low Level inputs to the factory JBL unit in the trunk so I can feed the low level of the new head unit and have the factory amp in the picture?

Thanks,

Dave

If I remember correctly those speakers are at 8ohm and your decks wants 4ohm. So that may be a reason they are sounding like trash. You may want to upgrade those factory speakers.
